Puri Sunia is an intimate and peaceful resort surrounded by nature, rice fields and coconut palms in the village of Abangan, 10 minutes’ drive from Ubud – Bali’s cultural and artistic hub. The name Puri Sunia is derived from the Balinese words ‘Puri’, which means the house of a king, and ‘Sunia’, meaning quiet or peaceful. Crafted in Balinese style, the design incorporates the textures and colours of nature, featuring rough-cut stone and soft homespun fabrics. Every building has been positioned to conserve the rare trees within the grounds. The 19-room resort presents three private villas with pools, eight deluxe rooms on the ground floor and eight upper-level suites. Additionally, there is the Batan Timbil Open Lounge incorporated within the Abangan Restaurant, a Royal Bath-style swimming pool, the Beji Spa and a Yoga Centre.
Each private Pool Villa is suitable for two guests, offering a king size bed, a semi-open-air bathroom with a soaking tub, a private pool and a dining pavilion. The upper floor Suite rooms and the ground floor Deluxe Rooms all have king size beds or twin beds, and are completed with ensuite bathrooms each with a sunken bath tub and a free standing shower. Facilities in all rooms include satellite-channel LCD TVs and Wi-Fi Internet access. The Abangan Restaurant is blessed with gorgeous rice field views, and has a menu with a combination of Balinese specialties and Western dishes. Finally, the Beji Spa connects with a spacious yoga centre, and introduces a whirlpool, a beauty centre, and two private massage rooms.
